About Pressque, LLC
Studying English writing and pedagogy at the University of Richmond and the University of Pittsburgh,
Emily Avent enjoys reading and writing fiction, and specializes in editing fiction and self-help manuscripts. Winner of the South Carolina Project in 2005, she worked in publishing for two years before branching out as a freelance editor and co-founder of Pressque.


Educated at Southern Methodist University, the University of Kansas, and the University of Witswatersrand in Johannesburg, Ellie Maas Davis has written extensively on the environment and issues of human rights. She serves as an acquisitions editor for Joggling Board Press and sits on the board of directors of the Lowcountry Initiative for the Literary Arts, in addition to curating Charleston's longest running weekly literary series, Monday Night Blues. Published in a number of anthologies and journals, she is the author of The Humours of Folly and often reviews books for The Post and Courier. She lives in the Lowcountry with her daughter.
